How long did everyone's HG experience last? I am so scared that I'm going to be sick the whole nine months. I don't think I could survive!

Don't worry you can get through this! my HG lasted from 7-25 weeks although after the 25 weeks I had to stay on Zofran to the end. I wasn't diagnosed until 14wks and that's when I had the Zpump and IV fluids at home.

!! don't let this scare you !!

mine starts at wk. 2

and ends:

#1 - at birth
#2 - didn't make it past 7 wks.
#3 - still going strong at 14-16 wks. no idea when it will end.

now for the good news:

#1 - way more manageable in 3rd tri.
#3 - way more manageable than #1! (didn't know about HG until now)

i swear knowledge is half the battle! (hey that's kinda punny... ^-^ )

With both the HG lasted until the bitter end. But it was much better by the third trimester both times. The nausea and vomiting were still there but not to the extent that my physical health was in imminent danger.

Sorry... Not awesome news from me. I've heard it does let up better with some others!

Oh, man. Shocked Shocked
At least it does seem to get better, though, toward the end. I'm in grad school right now and hate to think about missing the fall semester and falling behind.

i know what you mean about missing classes...somehow i managed to finish my last two semesters of undergrad during my first two tris of pg 1...though i managed to take some classes online which REALLY helped! perhaps you might be able to talk the profs into letting you tape or webcam the lectures and emailing them with questions you have?

#1: on the way to the hospital to be induced early.
#2: off all meds by week 25
#3: meds working like a charm, but unmedicated, I start to get nauseous and vomit...and I'm roughly at 10% of normal capacity. I can eat and drink, but left to my own devices, would never leave the house because it's too exhausting. (18 weeks) so far.

Try to take it day by day. Forecasting too far out is torture.

#1 was from week 4 till week 12 strong HG and throwing up till the end
#2 was from week 6 1/2 till week 21-25 and then I was doing great, no throwing up even.

I did not have preemptive treatment before and did not take meds before. with #3 I am hopping the preemptive treatment will help.

#1 had hg all the way through and off and on for 1 1/2 years after. no meds to help no knowledge of what i had.

#2 currently have hg and on zofran. Making it through and almost done.

Dont worry you can do it and all of us here will be here to support you. There are things you can do to help make it easier. Everyones time frame is different just take it 1 day at a time.

I had HG from beginning to end with my first (only about 4 weeks into this one). It was horrible during the 1st and 2nd trimester (my doctors didn't even know about HG, neither did I... I was told I was deliberately trying to harm my baby to lose weight), but by the 3rd trimester, I had found an excellent OB and I could actually eat without being sick.

Hang in there, it may go away (or atleast subside) and if it does, you'll spend the first few days waiting for the "DUN-DUN" moment when you're going to feel as bad as you did before. But it never comes! Yeah!!
